The McKean Township Trustees met in regular session November 14, 2011 at 6:00pm with Trustees Wintermute, McInturff, Schwartzenberger, and Fiscal Officer Ellas answering roll call. It was noted that November through April meetings start at 6:00. After the pledge of allegiance, the Trustees began with the audience.
Audience - John Hower, Rinehart, Walters, Danner Insurance, was present to go over the township insurance policy that will renew in December. The premium is $3540.00 covering all vehicles, equipment, building and contents. Bonds for elected Trustee and Fiscal Officer will be forthcoming. After some discussion of the policy, the trustees thanked John for attending our meeting.
Reports - The trustees reviewed the fund balances, bank reconciliation, blanket certificates and purchase orders. Motion by Trustee McInturff, seconded Trustee Wintermute, all agreed to accept as presented. An increase in appropriations of $3625.00 to cemetery fund and $3600.00 to the fire fund is necessary to pay today's bills. Motion for the increase by Trustee Wintermute, seconded Trustee McInturff, all agreed.
Road Supervisor - We will be ready for the funderal on Wednesday. Mike has been grading, all roads have been mowed the second time and it was agreed more stone was needed on Riley Road. The township had received a request for a boring permit on Dry Creek Rd. It was agreed that we would use the same permit that the county uses. The fee was then discussed. Motion by Trustee Schwartzenberger, seconded Trustee Wintermute, all agreed to charge $500.00 for the permit for any under the road boring permit issued.
New Business - Motion tby Trustee McIntuff, seconded Trustee Wintermute, all agreed to accept the minutes and bills as presented.
The part time road help was then discussed. It was agreed that we still had many projects that needed to be complete. In order to finish most of the road projects, motion by Trutee Schwartzenberger, seconded Trustee McInturff to continue working the part time help through the end of the year. It was brought to our attention at election time that the building needed to be spiffed up. Mike removed the old water cooler and mocrowave, new curtains, and the old lights will be removed. Trustee Wintermute will check about getting new flags.
The road and bridge levy failed by 100 votes. After much discussion, it was agreed to place the levy on the next election in March. Trustee Wintermute moved adoption, seconded by Trustee McInturff, all agreed to the resolution to request that the county auditor certify valuation and revenue information pursuant to RD 5705.03(b). Resolution will be filed with the county auditor and motion to place levy on ballot will be at our next meeting December 5. Fiscal Officer to take the resolution to the county auditor.
Motion to adjourn the meeting, all agreeing after some discussion as to the conditions of the roads.
